Illustrious Sir Ben Castellamare began his Masonic career as a member of Clifton Chapter Order of DeMolay in 1990. In 1991 he was elected as Master Councilor of his DeMolay Chapter. He earned the Past Master Councilors Meritorious Service Award from DeMolay International. He served as District Master Councilor in 1991 as well. In 1993 he was elected as the 44th State Master Councilor of New Jersey DeMolay. He was the first State Master Councilor to increase membership in ten years with his "mail order membership open house program", which has been noted as the most renowned DeMolay membership program in the history of New Jersey DeMolay.
Ben was elected to the position of Region Two Coordinator for DeMolay International for 1993-1994. He was honored by Georgia DeMolay, being elected as a member of Georgia Priory and a holder of the Degree of Ebon. He is a holder of the Degree of Chevalier and served as Commander of the New Jersey DeMolay Chevalier Court in 1994. In 2011 Ben was invested with the Legion of Honor Degree.
Ben Castellamare is a permanent member of Clifton Masonic Lodge #203 and a Dual Member of Little Falls Masonic Lodge #263. He is a member of Lyndhurst Masonic Club, Ridgefield Masonic Club, and Clifton Craftsmen's Club. He is a member of the Valley of Northern New Jersey, AASR and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He is a member of Newark Court #37 R.O.J. and The Order of the Q #1776.
Illustrious Sir Ben joined Salaam Shrine in 1997 and is a member of the Field Music Unit and Lakeland Shrine Club. He is an honorary member of the Salaam Shrine Ambassador Unit. Ben started the "Oasis Lounge" program in 2006 to introduce Freemasons and their ladies to Shrinedom in a more casual atmosphere, to compliment the Temple membership program. Until this date this program is still flourishing.
In 2006, he was elected to the office of Oriental Guide and served as the youngest Potentate of Salaam Shrine at the age of 36.
He has also proudly served as the 2006-2010 Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association Counterpart's President. He is a proud member of the Imperial Marshal's Aide Staff.
Illustrious Sir Ben has served on the Imperial Membership Committee since 2008 as a Regional Director and T.R.A.C. Specialist transitioning to a Membership Development Specialist.
In September 2011 at The Fall Meeting, Ben was elected to the office of Third Vice-President for the Mid-Atlantic Shrine Association.
Ben is a graduate of Berkeley College with a degree in marketing. He is an alumnus of Alpha Phi Delta national fraternity. He has been employed by Verizon Communications as a consultant for fourteen years. Ben is also an elected Union Steward for Local 1023 Communication Workers of America. He is married to his wonderful wife Lady Michelle since 2005. Ben is a member of Saint Bonaventure's R.C. Church and also serves his community as a Special Deputy Sheriff.
